The AT&T Enterprise Application and Device Certification Program provides enterprises an eco-system of certified solutions and devices that run on AT&T wireless network. Today over 300 software solutions and over 500 devices/modules provided by over 200 partners have been certified. Due to increasing demands from vendors, AT&T needed a new solution that would ensure all hardware and software met the premier level of integration.
Situation
AT&T Mobility had a number of processes without an integrated system. They did not have an application that provided integration with their existing business processes nor did it connect to other critical business systems. Business users had to manually pull the data from the existing systems and cut/paste the information into the other systems. AT&T was also lacking an on-boarding management tool that allowed the sharing of information between the manufacturers, developers and the AT&T decision makers who approve or deny device and application certification. Both AT&T and the partners alike had poor visibility into the process. Neither could see where they were in the process or what the next steps were. There was no standard and assured way for AT&T to communicate to the partner what the requirements were for each step of the process.
If partners had a maintenance release or a new version they had to go through the entire process again (filling out multiple forms, etc...). This caused issues not only on the partner side but AT&T on-boarding managers also had to duplicate processes by reviewing and resubmitting forms again and again. Partners had to be prepared to submit the application in one step as there was way of saving submissions during the process. The current system could not validate the device and solution categories with the on-line catalog.
AT&T also had no way to automate workflow during the certification process or reporting causing users to customize the reports manually. AT&T needed a system that would be flexible and allowed for future growth.
Solution
Plasma Computing Group Inc. (web design dallas) provided AT&T with the Plasma FUSIONTM platform that created a business partner environment that enables:
- Automated cross-functional integration and ties the On-boarding data to the On-boarding lifecycle and workflow.
- Flexibility to add new services, new processes, new roles and new user groups as the business and technology grows and changes.
- Secure and limited data management and certification status viewing by external partners and more extensive data management and certification status viewing by internal functional groups.
- A web based system to act as the repository for partner communications, documents and other processes from AT&T.
- Developers to "Recertify" currently approved applications or games that require maintenance releases.
- Data to be saved due to an incomplete submission process.
- Automated workflows, alerts / notifications, dashboards, and roll-up reporting
- Auditing, testing, marketing, development, partner management and transactional Onboarding information.
The Plasma FUSIONTM platform was built on a Microsoft .NET Framework with an Oracle database. The system is 100% dynamically driven and consists of next-generation interfaces using AJAX Update Panels. Encryption is being utilized to prevent any outside intrusions.
Plasma has provided AT&T with an enterprise based solution that is compatible across all popular browsers.
